The NIFT Creative Ability Test (CAT) is a 3‑hour offline drawing exam (100 marks), assessing creativity, sketching, and design concept. The General Ability Test (GAT) is a 2‑hour computer‑based test (100 questions, 100 marks) with a 0.25 mark penalty per wrong answer. For B.Des candidates, shortlisted students then take a Situation Test, creating a hands‑on 3D model with provided materials, evaluated on visualization, creativity, composition, color, construction, finesse, and presentation (20% weightage)
